What Is Virtualizor and How It Simplifies VPS Management

Virtualizor is a VPS control panel used by hosting providers to create, configure and manage large numbers of virtual private servers from a single dashboard, sitting a layer below the individual VPS’s own control panel (like cPanel or CyberPanel running inside the VPS itself).

The two layers of control

It helps to separate two distinct things: Virtualizor manages the virtual machine itself — provisioning it, allocating RAM/CPU/disk, starting and stopping it, taking snapshots — at the hypervisor level. Whatever control panel runs inside that VPS (cPanel, CyberPanel, Plesk, or nothing at all) is a separate, independent layer managing websites, email and databases on top of the OS Virtualizor provisioned.

What Virtualizor lets a host (or an unmanaged VPS customer with panel access) do

  • Create a new VPS from an OS template in a few clicks, rather than manual hypervisor commands.
  • Start, stop, reboot, or reinstall the OS on a VPS.
  • Resize resources — add RAM, CPU cores, or disk space — often without a full reboot depending on the change.
  • Take and restore snapshots, giving you a rollback point before a risky change.
  • Access a VNC-based console directly in the browser, independent of SSH — useful if networking inside the VPS itself is misconfigured.

Why this matters if you manage your own VPS

If your VPS plan includes Virtualizor panel access, you have a safety net separate from whatever you do inside the server over SSH — if you misconfigure networking, lock yourself out via a firewall rule, or need to reinstall the OS entirely, Virtualizor’s console and controls work regardless of the VPS’s internal state, since they operate at the hypervisor level rather than through the guest OS’s own network stack.

KVM specifically

Virtualizor supports multiple virtualization technologies, and KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is the one used for DozeHost’s VPS plans — each VPS gets genuinely dedicated CPU and RAM allocation with its own kernel, rather than sharing a kernel with the host the way container-based virtualization (OpenVZ, LXC) does.
