How to Create a Website in CyberPanel (OpenLiteSpeed)

With CyberPanel installed and secured, creating a new website on your VPS takes just a few steps.

1. Create the website

  1. Go to Websites > Create Website.
  2. Select the package/plan (defines resource limits if you’ve set up multiple tiers), the domain name, and an admin email.
  3. Choose the PHP version — CyberPanel supports running multiple PHP versions side by side, so different sites on the same server can use different versions independently.
  4. Click Create Website. CyberPanel provisions the OpenLiteSpeed vhost configuration automatically.

2. Point DNS at the server

If you’re using CyberPanel’s own DNS management, add an A record for the domain pointing to your server’s IP under DNS > Manage DNS. If DNS lives elsewhere, add that same A record at your existing DNS provider instead.

3. Enable SSL

Under SSL > Manage SSL, select the domain and click Issue SSL to request a free Let’s Encrypt certificate — this requires DNS to already be pointed correctly, since it validates domain ownership over HTTP the same way cPanel’s AutoSSL does.

4. Install WordPress (optional)

CyberPanel includes a one-click app installer — under the website’s management page, choose Install App > WordPress, set your admin credentials, and it installs and configures the database automatically, ready to log in to wp-admin.

5. Confirm everything works

Visit the domain over both HTTP and HTTPS to confirm the certificate is active and the site loads, then check Websites > List Websites to confirm resource limits and PHP version are set as intended.

For managing multiple sites on one VPS long-term, keep each site on its own Linux user (CyberPanel does this by default) so a problem in one site’s files can’t affect another’s.
